One of the best parts of summer are date nights. The sun doesn’t set until late and it almost feels like there are more hours to enjoy. Whether you want to stay close to home or experience something new, we’ve got you covered for planning seasonal date nights. Who doesn’t want to experience the summer nights with a special someone?
1. A Sunset Picnic
Enjoy the beautiful colors of summer by finding a fun place to picnic. Whether it’s a park or a mountain, you shouldn’t have trouble finding someplace beautiful. It’s also an excuse to get a cute picnic basket and pack it with all your favorite treats. Don’t forget a blanket and a bottle of bubbly.
2. Go for Ice Cream on the Beach
If you’re lucky and live by the coast, get a big bowl of ice cream and sit on the warm sand while the water crashes against your feet. Bonus point if you even split a gigantic sundae. We love spending time at the beach in the summer and one of the best flavors of ice cream to get if you’re in New England is a Green Monstah.
3. Dinner on the Patio of a Nice Restaurant
Most restaurants have outdoor seating this time of year. Find a nice restaurant for date night, wear a cute summer outfit and relax. For Americans, be more European and take your time eating. Even order after dinner coffee and dessert. Make sure not to have anything else planned so you can make the most of your time together.
4. Cook Together
If you’d rather stay at home, there’s nothing like finding a new recipe together. Search for some summer meal inspiration and get to work. Play some music while the two of your work as a team and the enjoy the fruit of your labor. For us, one of the best summer recipes that’s easy to make is a caprese salad. There’s endless possibilities and you can even make your house more romantic with using nicer china and lighting some candles.
5. Go to a Drive-In Movie
A drive-in movie gives us old school romantic vibes. There’s something so summery and cute about it too. You get the comfort of being in your own car, while having a reason to leave the house. Grab some yummy snacks, including candy and popcorn, and settle in to watch a fun movie. You can even bring your own comforts, such as pillows and blankets.
I can’t wait to go out to a nice dinner and plan a picnic.

Summer dates are so much fun, especially because it is still sunny after work, so you feel like you can still have some of the day to enjoy!
Strange timing, but there is a field/patch of grass behind where I live, and we saw a group of people having a picnic today and thought it would be a great idea to have a picnic there at some point. A meal outside at a restaurant sounds lovely as well!
Thank you for sharing these ideas! 😊

We agree! We’re more open to going out after work during the summer. A picnic near where you live sounds like a lot of fun. We hope you get a chance to this summer.
