How to Start Planning for an Epic Summer

It’s never too early to start planning for summer. Summer tends to be a busy time of year, so to make sure the season is memorable, it’s time to get planning.

There are so many things we want to do every summer, but we don’t usually get to everything. We have some great ideas for how to ensure your summer is exactly what you want to be. Grab your sunscreen, beach bag and favorite book, it’s time to start preparing for summer.

This blog post is all about how to have an amazing summer!

1. Write Down Your Goals

Before you can officially start planning for summer, it’s time to write down your goals. Think of everything you want or need to accomplish this summer. This can be anything from fun activities to responsibilities. We’re certain everyone has to balance both.

But make sure you’re prioritizing what you want to do. For example, if there’s an event or concert you want to attend, write it down so you don’t over schedule your life. Summer is the perfect time to prioritize yourself.

When you’re done writing down everything, then you can start to plan the rest of your summer because you know what you want or need to do.

2. Choose a Vibe

What type of summer vibe are you going for? Is it going to be a staycation summer? Are you planning to be at a vacation home the entire season? Is it time for laidback days and relaxing evenings. Or do you want a summer packed pull of adventure?

Deciding on how you want to spend your summer is a key step. If your summer is all about relaxing, then don’t let yourself get too busy. If you want to go on adventures, plan them out in advance. Make sure your summer is exactly what you want it to be.

3. Get Ready for Vacations

Summer vacations are always exciting. To get the best deals and to ensure a less stressful experience, plan as much as you can in advance. You don’t want your trip to suddenly become impossible or too expensive. It’s time to book anything you need to book, including flights, hotels, rentals, etc.

If you know you want to take a vacation but haven’t made up your mind when and where yet, it’s time to start doing your research. Once it’s all done, you can stop worrying about it. To start your research, decide if you want to go somewhere far away or stay closer to home.

4. Prepare Your Home

Want to get your home ready for summer? It’s time to bring out the bright colors. Put all of the heavier, warmer and cozier things away and get out all of your summer supplies. We’re thinking colorful blankets, bright kitchen towels, summer themed decorative pillows and seasonal candles.

You don’t have to go crazy changing your home for each season, but a few small touches can make a huge difference. Having a nice fresh scent and summer colors in your home will make it look cheerful and fun all summer long.

5. Shop for Essentials

It’s time to go through your home and see what you need. Make sure you have all the summer things you need ready to go, such as beach towels, swimsuits and anything else you need to be comfortable during the summer. Don’t wait too late because you might not be able to find what you need.

Now is the perfect time to start your summer shopping because summer essentials are being added to the shelves. This also goes for anything you need for summer parties and events you plan on hosting. Make sure to buy what you need in advance.

6. Experience Local Events and Attractions

If you’re staying close to home for part of or most of the summer, it’s time to research what’s happening near you. Summer is full of outdoor concerts, festivals, events and excitement. Starting early ensures that you won’t miss anything that you’re interested in.

In major metropolitan areas, there seems to be events occurring weekly, so get all the ones you like on your calendar, especially if they require tickets.
